Content Management Systems (CMS)
CMS’ exploded onto to the web over the past several years. WordPress has become the most notable of these CMS’. WordPress was initially designed to be a blogging tool, but has quickly evolved into a light weight, easy to use, CMS. We have a dedicated page for WordPress covering our custom theme, plugin development, design, setup and management services. WordPress is actually the CMS powering the content on this very page. We think very highly of this platform and use it for many client websites as well.
Drupal is another CMS which offers a great deal of features and powerful enhancements over WordPress. We utilize Drupal for clients with very large (e.g., 1,000 or more pages) website projects. Currently, www.dailywrestle.com is a website we’ve built with Drupal.
Much like Drupal, Joomla is another large CMS. The great thing about Joomla is that it comes packed with a variety of extras pre-installed. We enjoy Joomla and will choose it over Drupal and WordPress for sites needing more security and membership features.
Custom, Designed from Scratch, CMS’
Sometimes none of the content managers above are suitable for a project. In these instances, we are capable of developing a customized CMS’ from scratch. We’ll structure a database and build pages from scratch to make the best CMS’ for your brand. We utilize MySQL, PHP or ASP, HTML, CSS and XML to create these systems.
What about good ole static HTML?
Although it is becoming more and more rare, a general static HTML website is also available upon request. These websites are considered static because all of the content is embedded in single files, rather than being generated from a database. This technique is excellent for very small websites, which will only be maintained by someone with knowledge of HTML.
